Learn how to manage stressors in medicine & uncover the joys of being a physician at this 4 CME credit retreat at NYIT’s de Seversky Mansion.
This retreat will help you discover your joy and resilience by honing your self-awareness and deep listening skills, keys to navigating stressful and demanding situations that you face daily.
This retreat will be led by Mick Krasner, MD, who is internationally recognized for his work in physician wellness. The retreat is designed by and for physicians to help medical practitioners respond to the erosion of joy in their work. The approach is evidence-based and has been demonstrated to lessen the effects of burnout, and improve well-being, engagement with work, and patient-centered compassionate care.
This program has been designated for 4 CME credits. In a beautiful setting, away from your usual daily tasks, you will explore and reflect on the effects of stress on today’s physicians and discover ways to mitigate the effects of these challenges and to flourish.
The fee for the retreat $35.00 includes brunch and wine tasting and pairing. We welcome you to bring your significant other, if you wish. Your guest is complimentary.
Each physician participant must purchase a ticket in their name. The cost of the ticket is $35.00. If you are bringing a guest, please also select a guest ticket. The ticket for your guest is complimentary. Everyone attending must have a ticket.

Learning Objectives:
- Describe the components of Mindful Practice in Medicine and how they work together.
- Appraise the empirical evidence connecting Mindful Practice with quality of care, work satisfaction and engagement, and teamwork.
- Compare individual and structural/systemic factors that can help physicians, health professionals, and medical organizations flourish.
- Explore meaningful professional and personal experiences and how our attention, intention, and attitude affect these experiences.
- Understand the power of and barriers to attentive observation and critical curiosity in clinical practice and how these skills apply to both professional and personal well-being.
- Investigate the connection between professional well-being and overall health that includes one’s personal and social connections- colleagues, friends, life partners, and family.
