Most states require that physicians keep their online physician profile up to date. Many physicians don’t even know that they have a state official physician profile. Each state has different rules as to the timing of updating profiles. But they certainly require that it’s updated by the time you renew your registration, and after any important change in your hospital credentials, address or practice. Failure to update may result in disciplinary action by your state medical board. Keeping your profile up to date is easy and free. Why not stay in compliance?
